Hi Society follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log or record visitors when they visit apps. All hosting companies do this as a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, web browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analysing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the app, and gathering demographic information. Visitor logs are periodically deleted: All entry and exit data is deleted from Hi Society systems after 180 days. All Committee Head of the Society do have the option to reset this to 60 days or 120 days. Once deleted, even Hi Society will not be able to retrieve past data.
Like any other app, Hi Society uses ‘cookies’. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the app that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimise the users’ experience by customising our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.
